Sound Baths & Supermoons: The New Social Calendar

Bars still hum across Los Angeles, but more and more, the hottest tickets in town aren’t for cocktails   they’re for sound baths.

In the past two weeks, domed studios from Venice Beach to Laurel Canyon have sold out classes blending gongs, chimes, and guided meditation. Some sessions timed themselves with September’s supermoon, drawing hundreds to gather beneath celestial glow.

The rituals are rich with symbolism. For some, they’re spiritual practice; for others, they’re simply ways to reset after 60-hour weeks. But collectively, they’ve become cultural shorthand for modern Angeleno life. “What are you doing Thursday?” might just as easily mean a sound bath as a dinner reservation.

In L.A., lifestyle has always been about reinvention. Today, the sound bath is less fringe wellness and more mainstream social ritual   where self-care doubles as community, and healing resonates in surround sound.
